Our second day in Milano called for a little exploring, a little shopping and maybe just a little eating! As a family of 5 it can be hard sometimes to decide on what to do for the day, but there’s always one decision that is unanimous…getting out and checking out the local food scene!

Panzerotti for breakfast from Luini ‘s in Milan. Basically fried dough with a variety of fillings. Need I say more?

Josh excited by the artisanal products!

Our second day in Milan was met with some of the heaviest rain and thunder we’ve experienced in a long time (folks we are from San Diego, where it barely ever rains) Girls were delighted! Definitely didn’t stop us from exploring.

And definitely didn’t stop Bri from having her latte! Just kidding… But that girl does love her some coffee though.

Yeah, I know… Doesn’t look like Italian food. Who the hell eats Asian food in Italy?!? We do! HAHA. Kids and Lev LOVE Asian food, especially dumplings so when we passed by B Jinghau in Milan and saw the sweet lady making dumplings and waving to us …we had to stop in for a little snack. They actually were pretty darn good!

The sun came out after a little bit so the girls decided to cool off with some water from the many fountains all over the city.

But apparently that was not enough… Now we know why there are so many gelato places in Italy. It is definitely the best way to cool down.

We found an amazing Gelato place on our way to the children’s museum called Alberto Marchetti, where all the ingredients are sourced by a local farms and part of the slow food movement. How could we resist?

Milano’s New Children’s Museum based on the Reggio Emilia play based approach. Brought us back to our Blue School days.

Girls working together to build their pyramid.

The museum provided a ton of different materials to work with and girls enjoyed spending time with other children while creating.

All that playing got us hungry….antipasto platter with just a little bit of everything.
